UK instructors on U.S. west coast

Question:

I’m looking for a U.K. certified instructor on the west coast of the USA who can legally sign my certificate of experience. If you know of anyone, especially in the San Francisco Bay Area or Seattle area (or within a shortish flight of either), please email me details. a. — Suite 2380, Seattle, WA 98101, U.S.A.        | FAX: +1 (209) 447 8181 http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/ajcd/             | U.K. PPL(A) IMC Night http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~ajcd/       | Still learning, upside-down

Response:

Try Roger Conway at Armstrong Air (LA-area)… or  Andy Burr at Anglo American Aviation (SD-area =KSEE) …the closest ones I can tell. HNY, Peter. I’m looking for a U.K. certified instructor on the west coast of the USA who can legally sign my certificate of experience.–

Thanks for the suggestions. I knew about Ajay (UKFT) already, but didn’t want to have to go down there. It turns out that there is a U.K. QFI in the Bay Area; Mike Shifflett at Nice Air, based at Reid Hillview. So, I hired a plane and flew down from San Carlos yesterday, avoiding the worst or the Bay Area rush hour traffic, and making sure of my night currency on arriving back at SQL. Now I’m OK for another 13 months :-) a. — Suite 2380, Seattle, WA 98101, U.S.A.        | FAX: +1 (209) 447 8181 http://www.dcs.ed.ac.uk/home/ajcd/             | U.K. PPL(A) IMC Night http://www.tardis.ed.ac.uk/~ajcd/       | Still learning, upside-down

How do you become a UK certified instructor. Denny

I’m not really sure, but I think most of it has to do with learning a different language. For example, replace "traffic pattern" with "circuit," "touch & go’s" with "circuits ‘n bumps," "snap roll" with "flick roll," and "aerobatics" with "aeros" and you might be most of the way there :) Oh, and is "fuel truck" something like "fuel bowser"?
